Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without. Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human ... until the cold makes him shift back again.
Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human--or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.
Cover: The cover is cool, but it didn't really draw me in. I love the wolf in the back ground though. It practically tells you what the story is about. I that about it.
Story: Hands down this book is fantastic! I loved how this book just jumped right into the wolf story. Some books take forever to get good. I also liked how they went from Sam's point of view to Grace's. Shiver is funny, romantic, thrilling, and overall awesome!
Grace was a character I really liked. I didn't know right away if I liked her or not. I love her love for the woods and the wolves. The way I see Grace is he tries tries to act like her life problems don't bother her, but she just wants to be loved and understood.
I fell for Sam right away (too bad he's into Grace)! He was so sad sometimes that I didn't want ot read about him though, because he made me sad. I really liked how the book went between Grace and Sam's view. I know how girls feel when they want a boy to kiss them or hold their hand, ect. I have always wondered how boys feel and this book showed me exactly how boys feel. Sam is the kind of guy every girl wants. He is sensitive, he is a gentlemen, he likes poetry, and he is sexy.
Grace's family was not pleasent. I despised her family. Her parents were never home and they acted like they didn't care about her. Home is not supposed to be that way. Grace's mom was too wrapped up in her art and her dad, well I don't know what he was doing. Even though I didn't like her family, I guess it was good that they were never home.
I love this book! Maggie Stiefvater is a brilliant writer. I cannot wait for her sequel "Linger."
5 stars!!!!!
