Jessica's Guide To Dating On The Dark Side

Ok I lied. I just recently read Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side and I have to tell you all about it!
Summary:The undead can really screw up your senior year ...
Marrying a vampire definitely doesn’t fit into Jessica Packwood’s senior year “get-a-life” plan. But then a bizarre (and incredibly hot) new exchange student named Lucius Vladescu shows up, claiming that Jessica is a Romanian vampire princess by birth—and he’s her long-lost fiancĂ©. Armed with newfound confidence and a copy of Growing Up Undead: A Teen Vampire’s Guide to Dating, Health, and Emotions, Jessica makes a dramatic transition from average American teenager to glam European vampire princess. But when a devious cheerleader sets her sights on Lucius, Jess finds herself fighting to win back her wayward prince, stop a global vampire.

Cover: I like the cover. It's mysterious and it makes you wonder. A weakness I have is that sometimes I judge a book my its cover and thats exactly what I did with this book. At first I thought it was kinda dumb but whenever I read about it on someone's blog, I just had to read it.

Story: This book is about a country girl from pennsylvania that finds out that she is a Romanian Vampire Princess. She also finds out she has a long lost fiancee named Lucius. At first Jessica can't accept that she is a Romanian Vampire Princess. She slowly falls for Lucius, her betrothed, on the way to finding herself. She must marry Lucius or there will be a war between the Vladuscu vampires and the dragomir vampires.

I loved Jessica from the beginning. She is strong willed, stubborn, and independent. I also love the fact that she is a country girl. I hated that she was very logical and that she didn't like fairy tales, because I love fairy tales. Fairy tales let you escape from life even when you're all grown up. It drove me nuts about how long she took to believe she was a vampire! Overall I like Jessica.
It took me awhile to like Lucius. He may have been totally sexy but at first I thought he was a total snot head and that he was very rude. The times when you saw his sensitive side I absolutely loved him. Lucius had me laughing at some parts of the book. It was hilarious how he looked at american culture. You never think about how american culture may look until you hear it from him. Sadly, I did not like Lucius through most of the book. Through the end of the book I was just waiting for him to be his old self again but each time I got disapointed. The chemistry between Lucius and Jessica as amazing! I loved the romance scenes between Lucius and Jessica. They were done tastefully and made you want more.
Mindy, Jessica's best friend, was a funny character through the book. She is just a boy crazy teenager that wants a guy in her life. I dont really have a lot to say about her other than I felt so bad for her so many times throughout the book. I wish Jessica would've told Mindy her secret but I understand why she didn't. I was very disapointed that Jessica never got back to being friends at the end of the book. I wish Jessica would have said goodbye to Mindy or sorry, at least something!

This book was very good! It has humor, action, romance, and well just about a little bit of everything. The ending wasn't the best but still recommend it.

4 Stars!

I loved your mixed feelings for the protagonist Jessica. And I agree,it's irritating when a person can be so daft(sorry, couldn't think of a better word)!! I totally get your love for fairy tales!!
